George T. Stagg is an uncut, unfiltered, barrel-proof bourbon whiskey produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. As the flagship expression of the prestigious Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) released annually each autumn, it represents one of the most sought-after American whiskies globally. Each batch is typically aged for 15-17 years, though the exact age statement varies by vintage, and is bottled straight from the barrel without chill-filtration at cask strength, often exceeding 130 proof (65% ABV). Named after the 19th-century bourbon industry pioneer who helped establish what is now Buffalo Trace Distillery, this whiskey delivers intense flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, caramel, and seasoned oak with a remarkably complex, long finish. Due to extremely limited annual production and overwhelming demand, it is exceptionally rare, particularly outside the United States, and has become a cornerstone of bourbon collecting, regularly commanding significant premiums on the secondary market.
