Kawasaki

Kawasaki

Japan

Kawasaki Distillery was a Japanese grain whisky distillery located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, operating from 1972 to 2016. Owned by Mercian Corporation (later Kirin Holdings), it specialized in producing heavy, rich single grain whisky primarily from corn using traditional Coffey stills. Unlike Japan's more famous malt distilleries, Kawasaki focused exclusively on grain whisky production, making it a unique component in the Japanese whisky landscape. The distillery's closure has made its remaining stocks extremely rare and highly collectible, with official bottlings and select independent releases now commanding significant premiums in the global whisky market.
