White Heather originated in the 1930s when Samuel Rosenbloom established the whisky merchant firm Forbes McGregor & Co. In 1934, Rosenbloom (who had changed his surname to Campbell) acquired Glasgow blender Muir Mackenzie & Co and changed the company name to reflect his own—S. Campbell & Son Ltd. Five decades ago, GlenAllachie Master Distiller Billy Walker began his whisky journey as a master blender. He joined a team that created iconic blended Scotch whiskies enjoyed worldwide. Billy Walker acquired the GlenAllachie Distillery in 2017, simultaneously purchasing two blended whisky brands, MacNair's and White Heather. In 2018, he launched the GlenAllachie Single Malt Scotch Whisky range and MacNair's Lum Reek Blended Malt Scotch Whisky range, followed in 2021 by the White Heather Blended Scotch Whisky range to honor his roots in the industry. Now he proudly presents his latest creation: a 15-year-old limited release. Drawing upon half a century of expertise, he sourced the finest single malts and grain whiskies from the Highlands, Islay, and Speyside to craft a recipe with an exceptionally high single malt content. Using a combination of premium American and Spanish oak casks, the blend is married for an additional 3 years to allow flavors to integrate and impart extra depth and complexity from the wood. Tasting notes for White Heather 15 Year Old: White Heather 15 Year Old achieves a remarkable balance between honeyed sweetness and subtle peat smoke. Master Blender Billy Walker employs a complex dual cask maturation system in American and Spanish oak, constantly monitoring the spirit's development to ensure optimal flavor experience. Tasting notes for White Heather 21 Year Old: White Heather 21 Year Old has been matured for 18 years in a combination of first-fill American oak barrels, second-fill casks and hogsheads, and sherry casks. The blend then spends a further 3 years in PX Puncheons, Oloroso Puncheons, and Appalachian Puncheons (medium toast/char) to marry the flavors together, while the wood imparts additional depth and complexity. The slumbering casks remain under Billy's watchful eye until they reach his exacting standards and achieve perfect balance between wood and spirit characteristics. Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered, with no added color. 47% malt whisky, 53% grain whisky.
