Glenfiddich Distillery is owned by William Grant & Sons, one of the world's three largest Scotch whisky companies. Founded in the autumn of 1886 by William Grant, the distillery remains family-owned to this day, with his descendants committed to producing authentic, traditional Scotch whisky using time-honored methods. Born in a small Scottish town, William Grant began working at a local distillery at age 27, where his lifelong ambition to create the world's finest whisky took root. Recognizing that pristine water is the lifeblood of exceptional whisky, he embarked on a quest to find the perfect water source. His search led him to the Robbie Dhu springs in the heart of Speyside, where he purchased the surrounding land. On Christmas Day 1887, the first drop of Glenfiddich whisky flowed from the copper stills. After two decades of dedicated craftsmanship, William Grant's dream was fully realized. Today, the Grant family proudly owns three malt whisky distilleries and one grain whisky distillery, continuing the legacy of excellence established over 130 years ago.
