Kinclaith
Address:
40 Moffat Street,Glasgow
History
Kinclaith was constructed between 1956-1957 within the Strathclyde distillery in Glasgow, Scotland, to supply base spirits for Long John blended whisky (see "Strathclyde"). Following the sale of Long John International to Whitbread, it was demolished between 1976-1977 to accommodate Strathclyde's expansion. A 50-year-old "Kinclaith 1966" achieved a high price of £107 at auction in 2002. Kinclaith was never officially bottled by its owners; the three independent bottlers G. & M., Cadenhead, and Signatory have each released independently bottled expressions, all of which commanded high prices at auction.
