Tasting Notes & Reviews
Expert analysis and tasting impressions
Right then, just poured a glass 🥃. Lovely colur in the light. Smells proper warm, like honey 🍯 and burnt wood 🔥. Taste is smooth but got a bit of spice on the tongue. Definatly warming me up tonight. Finish lasts quite awhile... nice way to end the day. Cheers 🍻.
Right, so this dram's got summat special. First sip hits wiv this sweet, almost toffee-like vibe 🍬, then a wave of fruit—maybe a bit of apple and pear? There's a gentle woody note and a hint of cinnamon. It's warming, but no burn, like a cozy blanket on a dreich day. A drop of water opens up more of that syrupiness, adding a creamy mouthfeel. Finish lingers wiv a nutty echo, almost almond? Not too shabby at all. Slàinte! 🥃
Nose: right, get a load of this. First off, it’s got this lovely honey and vanilla thing goin’ on, like a warm pastry 🍯. Then comes a bit of malty chocolate, and there’s a hint of oak char in the background. Palate: Oh, that’s smashing. Rich and a bit oily. Starts with that honey again, then some spicy ginger and toasted nuts 🌰. It’s got a kinda deep, fruity character – think stewed apples maybe. Finish: Long and warming. The spice lingers, with a return of that vanilla and some gentle wood smoke. A proper comforting dram. The tastry is complex but really approachable. Top stuff. 👍
