Tasting Notes & Reviews
Expert analysis and tasting impressions
Right, this one’s a proper belter. 🥃 Nose hits ye straight off with bonfire smoke and a salty sea breeze, like walkin’ past a kipper shed in Oban. On the tongue it’s surprisingly jammy – blackcurrants, heather honey, maybe a wee bit of marzipan? Quite oily, coats the mouth lovely. Finish is where the spice wakes up. Cracked black pepper, a flicker of ginger warmth, and that peaty reek just hangs aboot for ages. Smokey, sweet, and dangerously easy to sip. Nae bother wi’ a drop of water either – opens up the toffee notes. Reet good dram, that.
Nose: Lyk a bonfire 🔥 mixed wiv fresh cream. A bit o' dried fruit n' a hint o' vanilla, ya know? Palate: Proper smooth! Gets that warm, spicy kick - lyk cinnamon or pepper 🫚. Then comes this chewy, toffee sweetness 🍯. Quite thick in the mouth, init? Finish: Long n' warm, a lil' oaky dryness. Leaves a nice, sweet smokiness lingerin'. Reckon it's a good sipper fer a chilly evenin'. 👍 Fink I taste some dark chocolate too? Maybe a bit o' orange peel. Rich stuff, innit.
Oh, this one's proper nice! Sweet vanilla and a bit of spice upfront, wiht a subtle smokiness that doesn't overpower. It's smooth as silk, real easy drinking. Gots hints of dried fruit and maybe some honeyed nuts – just lovely for a wee relax. 🥃😊 Sometimes the finish lingers like a cozy fireplace. Can't fault it!
Right so, had a proper dram tonight and here's how it hit me 👃🍯 First nose - massive wave of rich toffee and caramel, like walking into a sweet shop init. Bit of dried fruit coming through too, raisins and that 🍇 Taste-wise... wow. Got this lovely honey sweetness straight off, then boom - loads of oak and vanilla. Quite full bodied, coats the mouth nicely. Hints of cinnamon and maybe some dark chocolate lurking in there 🍫 Finish is long and warm, slightly spicy with a bit of smoke. Not overpowering tho, just gently fading. Leaves this gorgeous malty sweetness that lingers for ages 🔥 Honestly this is exactly what I want on a cold evening. Rich, warming, complex but not tryin too hard yknow? 9/10 would absolutely have another glass 🥃✨
Right, had a wee dram last night and here's how it went down 👇 First sip — oh aye, lovely stuff. Really smooth on the tongue, no harsh burn at all 🥃 Getting some nice honey sweetness mixed with a bit of vanilla. Maybe a touch of toffee? Then there's this gentle warmth that just... lingers. Like a hug from the inside 😌 Slight hint of fruit — apples maybe? And a whisper of oak from the barrel. The finish is class. Long and mellow, leaves you wanting another sip straightaway 👌 Honestly, perfct for a quiet evening. Would pair brill with a bit of dark chocolate imo Rating: would definitley have again 🏴 Cheers! 🥂
