Aberlour 16 Years Single Malt Whisky

So this one's quite complex innit 🥃 Got a lovely honey sweetness upfront, maybe some vanilla and a bit of toffee there too. Then the fruits come through - I'm getting apple and pear, maybe some dried fruits as well. Quite sherry-forward if I'm honest. Bit of oak and gentle spice, a touch of cinnamon maybe. The smoke is there but it's not overwhelming, more like a gentle peat influence. Some malty, biscuity notes underneath it all. Finish is medium-long, leaves you with this nice warmth. Getting some citrus zest right at the end 🍊 Overall it's quite well balanced, not too aggressive. Easy enough to sip neat but would probably work alright with a splash of water too. Solid dram for the money imo 👍
