Glen Cawdor was built near the River Nairn, close to the Inverness - Elgin line. Glen Cawdor was founded by three businessmen, on six acre land. The distillery was designed by Charles Doig, who was the creater of the Pagoda type chimneys. The company was dissolved in 1901, and changed hands to John Haig & Co. in 1903. The distillery was closed in 1927, and demolished in 1930, without a trace.
